There are so many crafts that could be found around us today and this makes it very difficult to select which of them would be perfect for our kids.
But do not worry because we have carefully selected some crafts that would be great for your kids. There are easy to create, educative and they are as follows:
Valentine’s Day Kids craft #1 – Votive
The process of making a valentine’s day votive might be a little messy but that is where the fun is.
It will take your kid through the fun of sticky liquid starch and the creative process of carving out little bits of heart from the craft tissue paper and placing them on the jar.
This craft needs just a little supervision as it is easy to understand and create.
In creating a valentine day votive, you will be needing these items:
A glass jar (probably the one not in use anymore),
an old newspaper (this will be spread on your area of craft),
colored craft tissue paper (this is where we will be carving out our tiny hearts shapes from),
a pair of scissors (will be used for cutting out the craft paper to shapes),
liquid starch (this will serve as the out gum; to stick the carved craft paper to the jar),
white tissue paper,
craft brush and
a container for our liquid starch.
So all the kids need to do is stain the white tissue paper with the starch and wrap it around the jar, then cut out the tiny bits of hearts, apply the liquid starch to them and paste on the jar covered with the white tissue paper and your beautiful votive is ready.
Valentine’s Day Kids craft #2 – The paper heart wreath:
This is another beautiful craft for your kid for valentine.
It is actually one of the most beautiful and easy craft to create.
Here are the materials required for making a paper heart wreath:
a colored cardstock (this is actually the major material for this craft and you may have to get cardstocks of different color in order to create a beautiful wreath),
a pair of scissors or a paper cutter (this will be used to cut the cardstock into shapes and make a heart with them.),
a mini stapler (to create a neat wreath, a mini stapler needs to staple the heart-shaped piece of cardstock.),
a ribbon (this will serve as the holding frame of the paper heart wreath when it is completed)
Now, to create your beautiful paper wreath with these materials, your child needs to cut the cardstock into halves and fold each half into two, make a heart out of it and staple with the stapler.
This will continue for all the cardstocks until you have gotten enough. You should then line it up in a circle and staple together. Staple the ribbon in each of the edges of your heart in the circle. Here you go: you have got yourself a beautiful paper heart wreath!
Valentine’s Day Kids craft #3 – The tissue paper wreath
Another beautiful craft is tissue paper wreath.
This may sound the same as the one mentioned above but they have different beautiful appearances when created.
For the tissue paper wreath, the materials needed include:
different colors of tissue papers squares (preferable red and pink. This is a major material for this craft),
a heart shape (this can be created from chipboard),
liquid starch or a glue (this will help to paste the tissues to the heart shape),
paintbrush (this will be used to apply the liquid starch to the heart-shaped board)
ribbon (this will serve as a frame to your work)
Once you have gotten all these materials ready, use your paintbrush to spread the liquid starch or glue roundabout the heart-shaped area. Use a pencil to stamp your squared tissues on the heart. Then with the liquid starch and your paintbrush, stick the ribbon at the two edges of the heart. Voilà your tissue paper wreath is ready!
These creative crafts will surely provide your kids with all the fun they had wanted and will also educate them greatly.
