5. Slip a nice note in your kid’s lunch box

A simple “I love you” note, a joke or a pun in your kid’s lunch box will definitely make their day. Make this a daily tradition!

6. Make family albums

And don’t keep them digital only! Having printed photos and physical albums of your children’s special moments is always a good idea, especially as digital photos can be deleted anytime.

7. Organize movie nights

Whether you choose cinema or your own living room, it’s important to pick the right movie, one that is amusing, with a strong message, and appropriate for your kid’s age.

9. Build a special corner for your children’s gifts

Find a visible spot in your home to keep your kid’s arty and crafty gifts. Let them know you appreciate their efforts. When they are older, try keeping the gifts.

10. Be generous with hugs and kisses

As scientific studies have shown, hugging has an essential role in kids’ emotional and even physical health, so make sure to show them your love!

11. Get creative with food

Prepare heart-shaped cookies, pancakes with smiley faces or rainbow color salads. Make special holiday-themed meals for the holidays.

12. Say “thanks” when your kids help you

Even if they do the simplest chore, let them know you appreciate their efforts and responsible behaviour.

13. Protect your social media

If you post photos of your kids on your profiles, make sure to share them only with your trustworthy friends. Respect your kids’ privacy.

14. Make family movies

Take videos of your family and use a simple video editor to create home films. Give your kids the privilege to relive their memories one day.

15. Keep your kids active

Small things such as playing tag in your backyard or dancing in your living room can help your kids grow healthily, and it is useful for your health as well.

16. Replace grounding with constructive talk

Instead of punishing your kids for their mistakes and causing adverse effects, try helping them learn from their mistakes.

17. Read your children bedtime stories

That’s something that will help them feel loved and they will probably remember it for a long time. If your kids are already over bedtime stories, be sure to at least give them a good night kiss.

18. Get your kids a pet

Growing up with a pet is scientifically proven to be stimulating for your kids – it makes them happier and it also teaches them responsibilities.

19. Make family time distraction-free

When you’re playing with your kids or having a family meal, turn off your phone and stay away from emails. Some background music should be enough.

20. Eliminate negative talk

The constant repetition of negative or offensive words and phrases can make your child insecure. Stick to a positive language.

21. Travel with your kids

Try to save some money so you could spend some holiday time in a different environment. Get your children curious about the world.

22. Celebrate

Make family holidays memorable and fun. Besides regular holidays, you can pick a date that’s important to your family and make it your own holiday.

And, finally, besides all of the tips above, don’t forget to have some relaxing ME Time.

Being a good parent implies that you have to feel well, and you can’t feel well if you are always tired. Ask your partner to keep an eye on the kids while you’re having a bubble bath or hit the mall.
