You should help your kids make the world a better place. You will do that by giving them an idea of how powerful they are when it comes to this question of them to make the world a better place.
We could say that the world today is troubled in many ways. It is not friendly to everyone. We keep hearing the bad news about nature being devastated. The wars are still going on in numerous countries.
In order to build a brighter future, we have to raise new generations with maximum care, teaching them about the principles of peaceful existence with others and the world around them.
This doesn’t have to be complicated at all! Here are some simple ideas you should always have in mind as a parent and share them with your kids.
Thoughts
- Kindness doesn’t cost a thing. In fact, kindness can only make you richer in friends and experiences!
- Knowledge is the greatest possession one can have. It is something that cannot be taken away from you! Teach your kids to value books and other sources of knowledge as soon as you can.
- Gentleness is strength. Being gentle to other people, animals, plants means that one is strong enough to respect the world around them.
- Each emotion counts! Some parents dislike when their children cry or express any negative emotion, and even try to force their kids to suppress it. Every emotion, pleasant or unpleasant, has its function and makes us humans!
- Sharing is caring. Make sure to teach your children this is a valuable principle outside the social media as well! Sharing toys, books, or just ideas or their time is the path to true solidarity.
- Every human being is unique. Teach your child that there is something special about everyone, including them.
- Differences connect us! Diversity is a gift that makes this world so amazing and full of surprises. Teach your little ones to embrace that fact.
- Violence makes violence. Nothing good comes out of a fight. Teach your children that none form of violence will make anyone happy.
- Simplicity is beautiful. One doesn’t need a lot of money or spectacular things to enjoy themselves. Teach your children to appreciate little things and enjoy them.
- Curiosity is a virtue. Encourage your children’s hunger for new knowledge and experiences.
- Nature is precious. Help your kids develop a habit of spending time in nature and teach them how to do no harm to plants or animals.
There is more
- Honesty is always the way. No matter how rough the situation is, it is always healthier to say the truth than to mess with lying.
- Each voice counts. Teach your child how to speak their mind and overcome any obstacles preventing them to express their opinions.
- Laughter is the music of the heart. Make sure to encourage your children to have fun and look at the bright side.
- Constructive criticism is welcome. It is essential for every child to learn that life is not about being perfect but about continuous learning how to be a better person.
- Everyone has a precious talent. Help your child what is their talent which they can use to improve the world.
- Sustainability is nurtured through our daily lives. Teach your kids how to recycle and adopt other ecologically friendly habits.
- Responsible behavior is the key. Your kids have to learn that there are consequences to each of their actions.
- Everyone should plant a tree at least once in their life. Encourage your children to do something nice for the planet and leave a trace that will last for decades.
- Asking for help is as important as helping others. Firstly there is nothing wrong with needing a helping hand. Therefore, collaboration and solidarity keep us in harmony.
- Money doesn’t define us. Therefore, teach your children not to be materialistic and to seek values in people, meaningful connections, nature, arts, and other things that feed the mind.
I’ve picked up many of these principles from my parents and I am gladly sharing them with my children, hoping they will pass it on to their children one day.
Watching the new generations growing up, I am full of hope that they honestly will improve the way our world works!
